Mentor Application

Mentor recruitment for 2013-2014 opens September 3rd, 2013! Click here for position details and application instructions. Applications are due September 25th, 5pm.

Beginning in October, there will be one speaker session per month until April 2014.  All sessions take place between 4 - 6pm (with 3:30 - 4pm reserved for food/refreshments). The specific weeknight is not consistent due to the availability of our speakers. 

The time commitment is about 5-6 hours per month beginning in October:

Speaker sessions (1/month):
- 30 mins: eat/socialize with the students before lecture
- 1 hour: attend the lecture 
- 1 hour: mentors facilitate breakout discussion groups with high school students 

Outside of sessions:
- 2 hours/month: background reading to prepare for discussion group (readings are provided)
- 1 to 2 hours/month:  answering questions students may have 

In April, there is a full-day final symposium (9am-5pm) where students present their final projects. Mentors are welcome and encouraged to attend any or all of this event!
